Every month, a group of us explores a different color. It’s been a wonderful project this year, which had me keeping my eyes wide open on a scavenger hunt for a variety of hues this year. This month’s assignment was “gold” – which proved to be very difficult! not much gold around here this time of year – but a whole lot of gray. This image is from my archives. In October, I was in Atlanta for a business trip, and after a particularly full day, found myself in the evening wandering through the city’s botanical gardens. I came upon a field of these Black-Eyed Susans during the magical golden hour, just before the sunset.
